Yankee Stadium, Charcoal on Paper, 16"x18"
This is the second drawing I made of the stadium. I prefer this drawing compared to the other one because to me I felt more familiar drawing the subject. At this point in time I probably have about 6 paintings and only two drawings. Indeed knowledge carries over from painting to drawing, but in the beginning something gets lost in translation until I spend more time drawing.
Isn't that the case with just about everything - it always comes down to time. It probably doesn't help that when I am on the platform I spend equal time talking and making work, especially if there are children. I have a history of being a NYC Public School teacher and Portland, OR Public School teacher and taught in the Peace Corps Philippines so if there are kids around there is something that can be taught and learned by both of us.
